Allotments
Work on the allotments water supply will take place soon - new pipework and a tank to the right hand side of the field will be installed. Any interested contractor should contact the Clerk to the Council for specifications. Tenders must be returned by 12 noon on Monday 7th September and will be considered at the Parish Council meeting that evening.
Allotment plots available for rent at £28 per year on the site at Bempton Lane, Flamborough. Please contact the Clerk to the Council for more details.
Community/Youth Shelter
The Youth Shelter has been installed on the Little Village Green and the Council along with ERYC is monitoring its use. If you see any problem with the Shelter or anti-social behaviour in the area please contact the Police.
Code of Conduct
The Parish Council at the meeting of 14th May 2007 resolved to adopt the new Model Code of Conduct for Parish and Town Councils (Local Authorities (Model Code of Conduct) Order 2007) including paragraph 12(2) thereof, effective immediately and that the principles set out in the Relevant Authorities (General Principles) Order 2001 are adopted as an annex to the adopted Code of Conduct. Copies of the new Code of Conduct can be inspected by contacting the Clerk to the Council.
This Code of Conduct replaces the previous Code and at the meeting of 4th June, Mr M Buckley (ERYC Head of Legal and Democratic Services and Deputy Monitoring Officer) visited the Parish Council to talk to the Council about the Code and answer questions.
News in brief .......
- Flashing speed signs have been installed on the entrances to the Village - on Crofts Hill the 40 mph sign will be removed and a 30 mph sign installed at the bottom of the hill. There is a 30 mph sign on Bempton Lane and there are plans to install a 30 mph sign on the approach to the village on North Marine Road.
- The three year Footway Lighting Maintenance Contract 2009-2012 has been awarded to ERYC. Any faults with street lights please ring 01482 395740.
- The Parish Council is still battling to sort out the standing water at Crofts Hill - agreement has been reached with Yorkshire Water who have sent funds for ERYC Highways Dept to undertake work to the drainage system. We now await for ERYC to undertake this work.
- Recently the Parish Council has agreed to repair the railings and finials at the Fishermans Memorial and to undertake remedial work to the playground.
- The Parish Council is trying to negotiate with ERYC and the RNLI to extend the slipway at South Landing so that damage is not done to the lifeboat and fishing boats.
- The Streetscene Walkabout took place on 3rd June and during week commencing 13th July, extra work was undertaken in the village by ERYC.
- A street walk took place with Parish Councillors, ERYC and various agencies on Constable Road, Way and Close, Stylefield Road, Stottlebink, Ogle Road, Mereside and South Sea Road North to identify any issues that residents may have. This took place on 30th June and ERYC will feedback to the Parish Council and residents in four weeks.
- The Parish Council is looking at taking over the area of land to the rear of Constable Road for the use of residents of Flamborough as allotments. Negotiations are underway with ERYC.
