Flamborough Pre-school caters for children from two and a half to school age.  The Pre-school is situated in St Oswald's Church Hall, opening for five morning and two afternoon sessions during school term time.  The majority of the children attending live in the village and transfer to Flamborough Primary School.  Generally there are also children from surrounding villages and Bridlington who feed into other schools.

Flamborough Pre-school has enjoyed three good Ofsted reports, the latest in July 2004.  The detailed report is available on the Ofsted website.

The Pre-school offers children the opportunity to learn through play in a warm, caring environment, with experienced, well qualified staff.  Children have access to a wide variety of activities and, since 2004, also enjoy an attractive outside area offering more diverse opportunities to explore and play.  The Pre-school recognises the importance of the parent as the main carer and educator, welcoming shared knowledge and help.

Flamborough Pre-school offers funded places for all children from the term after their third birthday, up to five morning sessions weekly.  Funding covers all fees for these children.  The afternoon sessions cater mainly for younger children, allowing them time to develop social play skills within their own age range.  Fees are presently (2006) £3.50 per session.  Each Pre-school session is limited to a maximum of twenty children.  This is generally less in the afternoon session.  Parents are welcome to visit the Pre-school during morning sessions to have a look round although it is advisable to phone first to ensure that staff are available to talk.  We operate an age related waiting list and do advise that you put your child's name on the list as soon as possible.
